About a month ago I shot for Teen Magazine’s Prom issue. It wont be out until January I believe, but it will be one of those magazines that high school girls carry around, circling their dress of choice and comparing notes with friends. The shoot was conducted at Miau Haus in Hollywood. Mario Chavez was the art director for the overall look which involved lots of white foliage to create an ethereal/ fantasy element to the overall image. Here are some production stills.
This month’s new issue of Splat features a portrait series that I shot! There are tons of images of your favorite paintball players that have never been published.
The Lady and I worked on the new Little Rooms jewelry campaign for months before finally coming to a decision on the vibe. It all worked out really well seeing as how the 40’s are in vogue this season. Everyone wants to feel like a million bucks during a recession so why not take it back to a more glamorous time? We shot all of the images in one day at my new studio in Downtown LA. We also rented the car for the shoot and had it parked in the lot behind the building. it was completely original as well. You can see more of the pictures in my online portfolio. James Vincent did the makeup, Daven Mayeda did the hair, and Ashton Michael created the custom wardrobe.

My lady’s new jewelry line will be coming out very shortly. We are in the works to create some more beautiful imagery to accentuate her already timeless line of pieces. The Fader featured Little Rooms in their style section. I shot the jewelry images. Read and enjoy!
I submitted this photo to the PDN/ Billboard Magazine Year in Music photo contest a while ago and completely forgot about it. I ended up placing in the “Breaking a Band” category. Boom Bip is an electronic musician living in LA. He is on Lex Records. His credits also include being half of the musical duo Neon Neon with Gruff Rhys. I had made three of these toy boxes for the shoot. The basis for the projects was to imply the recreation of Bip’s image from “Silverlake Hipster” to a more professional, mature look without going too mainstream. The idea was that the outside of the toy box was showing his old look and on the inside was Bip with his new look. The series followed the journey of the box from the storefront through shipping and finally to be opened by Bip’s band mates. I got the idea from all of those art toys I see at those boutique toy stores. They are usually packaged in a blank white box with a graphic image of what the toy should look like…. but it never does. I had made 3 of these boxes for the shoot, all identical. I made them myself out of white foam core. I had quarter inch pieces for the top and bottom and the sides were half inch. I had to score the side pieces to get them to mold the right way. The graphic image was applied using a decal that I had printed. My friend Mike Mayfield who works on the new Cleveland spin off show and previously King of the Hill took an existing image I had shot of Bip and created the graphic version.

Splat Magazine has a featured interview with the sports most talented front players. My friend Brandon Short is on the cover this time. There is also an interview with Edmonton Impact! Check it out!
I have been working on these images in between jobs for like a month now and I am happy to say that they turned out pretty good. Daven Mayeda was on makeup while Jillian Rubinger did the styling. Ali Lee was the model. Thanks to Little Rooms for some of the jewelry. If any mags are interested in running the story, it has yet to be printed so please get a hold of me.
My lady got interviewed by Radar Magazine online. She definitely divulges her creative side so have a look and read it! I also shot the portrait, of course.
